Muzej slovenske policije
The Slovenian Police Museum was temporarily closed due to insufficient space at the Police Academy. It was re-opened on the 14th December 2006. Although it is situated in the Police Academy in Tacen, it is under the jurisdiction of the General Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia. It consists of two departments: criminal department and department of security system development.
The re-opening of the Museum stresses the need for additional gathering of documentation related to the discovery and investigation of new criminal acts, and for gathering and improvement of documentation related to the history of internal affair organs. The other department contains a permanent collection of the Slovenian war for independence.
The Museum is an important teaching tool for experts, who can, by means of being presented with the already proven criminal acts and their disclosed culprits, learn about new ways of disclosing, investigating and presenting criminal acts. The wider public, on the other hand, can also benefit from the Museum, as they can learn about the rise in the number of criminal acts and thereby become aware of the problem of personal and property safety. Preventive measures are by far the most effective method of avoiding becoming a crime victim.
