Ahead of International Musuem Day and Museum Night Events, the theme of which for this year is Museums and Cultural Landscapes, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) launched a new educational program, The Landscape of My Country, designed for Syrian-Armenian immigrated children. The program assumes presentation of Armenian culture and its cultural landscape through works of famous Armenian artists, such as Gevorg Bashinjaghyan, Panos Terlemezyan, Eghishe Tadevosyan, Martiros Saryan, Minas Avetisyan, Arshile Gorky, Haroutiun Galentz and Hagop Hagopian, supporting social integration and participation of Sirian-Armenian families in the cultural and social life of the country, engaging into art activities of the Center.
The program consists of a series of encounters, during which a power-point presentation, featuring the artists and their work, is delivered to participants prior to the creative process. In the scope of the program, children will visit the National Gallery of Armenia, Museum of Modern Art, Galentz Museum, as well as work outdoors. Young artists are also involved in the program as mentors.
The project will be concluded with an exhibition of children’s works, which will be organized as part of the International Museum Day and Museum Night events.
In the scope of the program CCA collaborates with the YMCU-Syrian Armenians NGO.
