Musée Masséna
The Massena museum is a municipal museum of the city of Nice, located in one of the last luxury villas of the 19th century, on the promenade des Anglais. The public entrance is north of the building, located at number 65 Rue de France.
The Massena Museum was inaugurated in 1921. After several years of restoration, it reopened on 1 March 2008.
The new museum layout offers a permanent exhibition area of 1800m2. The first and second floor have a chronological and thematic approach to the history of Nice from 1792 to 1939. The third and last floor houses the library of Cessole with thousands of documents on the history of the County of Nice, Provence, Savoy and Italy du Nord.
