Our exposition “Book publishing in Bulgaria in the second half of XIX and the beginning of XX century” is arranged in the house of Hristo Gruev Danov – the founder of the modern Bulgarian book publishing. The building is a typical representative of the Bulgarian National Revival period. It has wall trappings of different colours and wood-carving ceiling.  The exposition reveals the role of Plovdiv as a centre of the Bulgarian education and culture in the period.  The stages of the development of education have been traced back on the basis of the publisher work of Hristo G.Danov and Dragan Manchov. The visitors will see different volumes of books, unique publications, geographic maps, school pictures, school aids, items of everyday life, personal belongings and correspondence of Hristo Danov and his publishing house.
