Art Deco Weekend at WMODA
Saturday, April 26 & Sunday, April 27, 2025
To celebrate World Art Deco Day and the centennial of the Art Deco movement, WMODA is hosting a sensational weekend series of events showcasing the Fired Arts. The 1925 Paris World’s Fair of decorative art gave rise to a new international design style, which became known as Art Deco. The style is characterized by streamlined, geometric designs, bold colors and the use of luxurious materials, reflecting an appreciation for modernity and machine-made objects. Discover more about Art Deco design at one of our fascinating morning or afternoon sessions presented by expert speakers.
Meet the Experts…
• Stephanie Sabato, Professor Emeritus of Design and Communications, will provide insights into Art Deco! What? Where? When?
• Louise Irvine, Executive Director & Curator of WMODA, will introduce the Flappers, Vamps and Divas created by British and European designers in the Art Deco gallery.
• Sharon Koskoff, President of the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches, is Keeping the Art in Art Deco as she celebrates art and architecture in Florida and further afield.

Come celebrate with us! Morning or Afternoon Special Session tickets on Saturday or Sunday cost $30 and include admission to WMODA. Pre-registration is required through Eventbrite. Space is limited so book early to experience one of these exclusive events.

• 10 am – WMODA OPENS
Have fun with our Roaring Twenties Trivia Trail in the Art Deco Gallery
• 10.30 am – Flappers, Vamps & Divas Louise Irvine, Executive Director & Curator of WMODA, showcases the pottery, porcelain and glass art in the museum’s Art Deco collection.
Followed by a guided tour of the Art Deco Gallery
• 12 pm – Art Deco! What? Where? When? Stephanie Sabato, Professor Emeritus of Design and Communications, gives her perspective on the historical evolution and meaning of the forms of the Art Deco Movement.
Toast the Art Deco Centennial with bubbly and sweet bites. Cheers!
Feel free to stay and enjoy all the WMODA galleries and shops until the museum closes at 4 pm.
