Vase and Cover

Vase and cover in the form of a classical urn moulded at the neck and base with vertical flutes and on either side a high loop handle. The whole is raised on a rectangular plinth and fitted with a high domed cover surmounted by a knop in the form of an acorn. Decorated centre front with an oval panel depicting two classical figures, Damon and Delia, one playing a lyre in a mountainous landscape. The panel is edged with a thin band of gold and is in reserve against a background of vertical stripes in gold. The other side of the vase is decorated with a similar panel. The moulded vertical flutes are picked out in turquoise enamel edged with gold. Size: Height: 27 cm.
