ICOM established International Museum Day in 1977 and thousands of museums all over the world are participating each year. In 2014, International Museum Day obtained record-breaking participation with more than 35,000 museums hosting events in some 145 countries. Are you among them?



This year, ICOM and Semantika have partnered to provide museums an easy-to-use platform for museum promotion. Museums who join the Museums of the World community can use our user-friendly CMS to update their visitor information, add exhibitions, events, educational activities, articles, and even collections.



Activities marked with the IMD2015 tag are also featured on the official International Museum Day map on the global ICOM website.
