Announcing our partnership with ICOM
Semantika, the team behind Museums of the World and Museums.EU, is very excited to announce a partnership with ICOM - International Council of Museums - the world's premier museum organization.
The key component of the partnership is International Museum Day, which was established by ICOM in 1977 to increase publice awareness of the role of museums in the development of society. It has been steadily gaining momentum ever since. In 2014, International Museum Day obtained record-breaking participation with more than 35.000 museums hosting events in 145 countries.
For IMD 2015, on May 18th, ICOM and Semantika have teamed-up to create an interactive map of participating museums worldwide and a comprehensive list of events, exhibitions and educational programs connected to International Museum Day 2015. The map and list are available on the ICOM website.
As a leading provider of IT solutions to the cultural heritage sector, Semantika is proud to provide the IMD event hosting and registration platform, which is running on our "Click once, publish everywhere" Museums infrastructure.
