Zgodovinski arhiv in muzej Univerze v Ljubljani
The University of Ljubljana Historical Archives and Museum was founded in 1968 as some sort of a historical memory of the University. It consists of three units: Archive Department, Museum Department and Reference Library with Documentation. The written archive material is kept in 10 funds on approximately 600 running meters; the museum material consists of approximately 800 exhibits and around 200,000 photographs; and the documentation collection houses an enormous information base about the University and its members, students and graduates, professors, buildings etc.
The library owns about 4,000 library units dealing with themes related to universities, their history, archivistics and museology. In the last decade the University Archives and Museum has published around 100 discussions and publications in both Slovenian and foreign magazines, and organized six temporary exhibitions of the history of the University. It also organizes a permanent exhibition of the history of the higher and university education in Ljubljana.
