The Cyprus Museum in Lefkosia (Nicosia) is Cyprus’ most important archaeological museum. It covers the island’s history from the 9th millennium BC up to the early Byzantine period. The Cyprus Museum was built in phases starting in 1907. On display in the Museum’s exhibition Rooms are major highlights of Cypriot archeology and history, as well as ancient objects that allow the visitor to take a glimpse into everyday life in ancient Cyprus. The Cyprus Museum annually hosts periodical exhibitions on many interesting themes of ancient life.
