Lyman Allyn Museum of Art

Closed Sundays and Mondays. OPENING SUNDAYS BEGINNING ON JULY 8TH Founded in 1932 , the Lyman Allyn museum includes over 10,000 paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, furniture and decorative arts, with an emphasis on American art from the 18th through 20th centuries. The Lyman Allyn was designed by American Renaissance architect Charles A. Platt and features artists like Rembrandt Peale, Benjamin West, Gilbert Stuart, John Trumbull, Thomas Cole, Frederick Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt.
