BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum

The BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum’s footprint is 20,000 square feet, comprised of exhibits, galleries, interactive displays and special event space. Boasting over 20 galleries, the stories of sport in BC are told from the early 1800s to the current day. Distinctive for its unique design and interactive displays, the Museum boasts the only permanent galleries in Canada honouring Rick Hansen and Terry Fox, two Canadian heroes who have generated positive public awareness for people with disabilities, the only permanent gallery honouring Greg Moore... and our latest Gallery, the Aboriginal Sport Gallery. In June, 2008, the BCSHFM, in partnership with Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Winter Games, opened a 2010 display for our visitors to celebrate the extraordinary Olympic-related accomplishments of British Columbia’s athletes over the last 90 years.

For over 40 years, the community has entrusted the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum with the responsibility to collect, preserve, study, and interpret materials that relate to British Columbia’s rich sport history. Internationally recognized as the ‘go to’ organization for BC sport history, researchers, writers, media members and sport historians have gained access to and an appreciation of BC’s rich sporting heritage through our extensive artifact and archival collection. Through our museum displays, education and community programs, and community outreach we strive to further our vision: "Honouring the Past and Inspiring the Future."
