Tall amphora similar to 1st Dynasty storage jars with clay caps found at Abydos (Hayes 1953 p112). 70cm high. This has a potter's mark on it. Such jars are commonly called 'wine jars' though they could have been used to store oil, resin or other commodities. Gift from University of Wales Aberystwyth.
