Teapot and Cover, Worcester, dated 1760
This teapot is made with a double wall of porcelain on the teapot and cover, the outer wall pierced with an oriental-style design and is decorated with transfer prints of King George II in profile, surmounted by a painted crown and on the reverse a print of "Fame", surmounted by a painted date, "1760". This is the only known example of its type and may have been made as a special commission, to commemorate the death of King George II in 1760.
