The Museums had been established in 1993 by the integration of five specialised museums of the Krapina-Zagorje County:
- Veliki Tabor Castle
- Antun Augustinčić Gallery
- Museum of Krapina Neanderthals
- Museum of Peasants' Uprising
- "Old Village" Museum
