National Museum of Gevgelija

Музеј Гевгелија

The museum is housed in an adaptive building, which was built in 1900. It has an extensive and specific architectural collection, which numbers several thousand museum objects. Some representative exhibits are on display in the permanent archaeological exhibition "Vardar hill with surrounding sites". The exhibition contains about 350 objects dating from the epochs of the Neolithic to the Roman period from the end of 2nd to 4th century AD. The city of Gevgelija is located in the heart of prehistoric and ancient Paeonia Amfaksitida area with its central settlement Gortinija (Vardar Reed).
