Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum

The Jinsha Site is a crucial discovery of ancient Shu civilization. The Museum is located on the original archaeological site in the northwest of Chengdu, whose mission is to preserve and display the Jinsha site, as well as provide an opportunity to study ancient Shu civilization.

In April 2007, Jinsha Site Museum opened officially to the public. The museum covers an area of 300,000㎡, with a building area of 38,000㎡. It consists of the relics hall, the exhibition hall, the center of conservation and restoration, the center of cultural communication and the theme park. The museum collections have high value of history, research, and exhibition due to its various types and complete systems. The exhibition of the museum shows Jinsha culture in many aspects of archaeological site, ancient eco-environment, social life style, social production, religious worshipping, and cultural background, etc.

So far, Jinsha Site Museum has been selected as Historical Monuments and Cultural Relics under State Protection, First-class National Museum. the Fist Batch of Archaeological Site Part, National 4A Scenic Spot, and World Cultural Heritage List Nominations.
