Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum

Salisbury Museum is based in the medieval King's House located opposite Salisbury Cathedral. We are home to some incredible archaeological finds from Salisbury and Stonehenge - including the oldest gold objects found in Britain.

The Museum’s collections span the history and archaeology of Salisbury and south Wiltshire, from prehistoric times to the present day. The Museum is Designated by the Arts Council as having archaeology collections of outstanding national importance.

The Museum has a busy programme of family events, courses, lectures and tours. Our temporary exhibition programme includes three major and three minor exhibitions per year, which cover subjects as diverse as history, archaeology and fine art.
