Lady Denman Maritime Museum

The Lady Denman Heritage Complex was inspired by the Lady Denman ferry, which was built in Huskisson in 1911. The ferry symbolises the region's early timber-getting and boatbuilding industries. The Lady Denman Maritime Museum was opened in 1988 and now includes the Jervis Bay History Gallery, Halloran collection (international surveying & navigational instruments, etc.), art gallery and the "Lady Denman" ferry itself. External exhibits include the Marine Reserve, Mangrove Boardwalk, other historic vessels and native dry and wetland gardens. Dharawal elder, Laddie Timbery, has had a workshop at the Lady Denman since the 1980s. The LDHC focuses on the people and environment of the Jervis Bay region.
