Western Approaches - Liverpool War Museum

Explore World War II Top Secret Underground Headquarters - an intricate labyrinth of rooms, once a top-secret nerve centre in 1940s wartime Britain.

Set beneath the streets of Liverpool, re-live the times of 1940's Britain with an insight into the life and works of the Wrens and Waafs working under constant pressure in the original area command headquarters for The Battle of the Atlantic.

Visit a re-construction of the 50,000 sq ft labyrinth of rooms on the original site which brings a dramatic period of history vividly to life.

The historical war time bunker has been restored and opened to the public as a memorial to those who died to achieve it. It is the original building where the original battle was fought and won. It has been reconstructed exactly how it used to be.
