Essen & Trinken – Reisen durch Körper und Zeit

The Reiss-Engelhorn-Museums are the first museum in Germany to dedicate a large-scale exhibition to the topic of food and drink from the perspective of natural science and cultural history. In the multi-faceted compilation, stagings, archaeological finds, anatomical models, cultural-historical testimonies and interactive elements offer exciting insights into the history of nutrition as well as the ways and utilization of food in our bodies. The exhibition "Eating & Drinking - Journeys through Body and Time" conveys interesting facts about a central topic of humanity in an exciting and interactive way and invites children and adults alike to participate and think further.
The show is presented in two parts: In the Museum Weltkulturen, visitors experience an entertaining journey through the human body. In the Museum Zeughaus, the clocks are turned back millennia in a cultural-historical journey through time.
The experiential journeys through body and time take visitors through a fascinating world of scientific facts, cultural-historical evidence and inspiring ideas that will keep them thinking even after their visit to the museum.
