Les Mondes de Katia Makdissi-Warren

The exhibition Les Mondes de Katia Makdissi-Warren is presented in partnership with the Société de musique contemporain du Québec (SMCQ), as part of the Tribute to Katia Makdissi-Warren Series initiated by the SMCQ. The work of Katia Makdissi-Warren, composer, but also ensemble director and performer, is the fruit of the meeting and mixing of music and sounds from the Middle East, the West and indigenous peoples. Inspired by this musical universe, eleven artists each offer an original work. Different techniques are intertwined: from print to photo through drawing and painting, fiber, sculpture and digital art. The result: eleven works from a singular artistic approach, accompanied by a text by the artist, sometimes a poem, sometimes a comment, explanation, interpretation or testimony.
