"Texas Nessie" Plesiosaur Fossil Exhibit

Experience the Heard's new exhibit! In May of 1991, avid fossil collector Mike Donovan made an amazing find in Collin County: the partial skeleton of a plesiosaur. In 2015, the bones were donated to the Heard by the Debera Donovan Foundation. Decades after the exciting moment where Donovan found this magnificent creature, his dream of having it on display has come true! This plesiosaur, nicknamed "Texas Nessie" is now a permanent exhibit at the Heard Museum and is free with general admission.
