[WORKSHOP] “HOMEMADE TEMPERA PAINT” FAMILY WORKSHOP

The incredible edible egg can be used to paint! The Ancient Egyptians used egg tempera to paint on stone, while Byzantine artists in Europe used tempera on their illuminated manuscripts. UMAG is offering paint-making workshops for families to create paint using fresh egg yolk and dry pigments. Participants will learn about this centuries-old technique, and have the opportunity to paint on plasterboard using their own paint.

Preparation: It is suggested that participants prepare reference images, such as landscapes or animal related theme.

Special note: Egg tempera can be quite pungent.

Audience and Limit: Aged 8–14, around 5 groups (Only admit 1 parent and 1 child) per class

Note: Repeat of the 13 January & 20 January 2018 session
