“Religious Tourism in Jerusalem”
Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017 | 12:00
Location: the Palestinian Museum, Birzeit
Based on Jerusalem’s entrenched religious significance, this lecture highlights the richness and diversity of the city’s known and lesser-known religious tourist destinations, and the need to present Jerusalem as a global city of religious tourism. The lecture will also discuss the important role of Palestinian tourist and religious organisations in spreading the Palestinian narrative, devising innovative ways to attract tourists, and overcoming territorial obstacles imposed by the occupation, through creating new markets and hotels in East Jerusalem. Ra’ed Sa’adeh, Sami Khoury and Fares El Amad will be speaking at this event.
