This silver medal was awarded to Thomas Plane, then aged fifteen, by the Alphington school for boys in Devon. The image on the front shows Minerva, the goddess of wisdom, holding the pupil's hand whilst she points to the temple of fame, a rocky mount in - George III (1760-1811) -
