Vase and Cover

Vase off inverted pear shaped form with cylindrical neck fitted with a high domed cover, which flares outwards towards the rim, surmounted by a realistically modelled Japanese lady in traditional costume holding a spray of prunus blossom. Decorated with chrysanthemums, stylised insects, scrolls and other flowers, foliage and exotic birds in the Imari style, in brownish-red, gold and blue, the cover is similarly decorated.
