Figure of Dr. Boloardo, Chelsea-style, probably 20th century The character is from the Commedia dell'Arte (Italian Comedy), originally modelled by Kaendler at Meissen. His waistcloth is painted with 'Memoir Disabella 1750'. This example is possibly a copy of a larger original Chelsea model sold in 1911 and now in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Mark: Moulded raised anchor, the anchor painted red. Provenance: Lady Ludlow Collection (gift of the National Art Collections Fund) Size: Height: 25.5 cm.
