Plain clear glass with long straight sided bowl, slightly curved at the bottom and widening at the top, made with slight vertical ripples all over, supported on a short hour glass shaped stem, the whole supported on a small flat base. The whole engraved with a cut spray of roses round the base and with a scene on the bowl of two birds on a branch of a tree with a background of buildings and dove cotes, and inscription "Deux Pigeons s'aimorent d'amour tendre" - the first line of La Fontaine's fable "Les Deux Pigeons".
