Dessert Plate

Part of a pair of dessert plates, each is circular with wavy rim moulded with gadroon ornament. Painted with a broad dark blue border decorated with four panels in reserve edged in gold scrollwork. Each panel is linked to its neighbour by gilt scrollwork and festoons of vine leaves and tendrils all in gold. Three panels on each plate are painted with English garden flowers, the fourth with a coat of arms. The decoration on the inner edge of the border of each plate is edged with a broad gold band edged in large dots. Size: Diameter: 22.4 cm
