A creamware jug, one side enamelled with a horse gin, the other with miners tools in red / brown borders with a ribbon of berries, 210 mm high., , , , Condition : One decending hairline crack, localised light discolouration mainly confined to the interior and with a few glaze scratches on the back of the handle., , , , Shows a clear picture of a coal sledge with runners, and a corf handle ( this must therefore have been used to transport the coal underground, as well as being raised up the shaft ). Again gin race is clearly shown, and draw beam appears to be made from a relatively unshaped tree, with the base of the treat the opposite side to that to which the horse is harnessed. This weight swinging would help the horse when the gin is turned.
