Tiles with colored glazed faience were very popular for decorating the walls of palaces. In the palace of Ramses III in Tell el-Jahudijeh there were rows of representations of various foreigners. Since the 19th dynasty, the subject of the subjugated enemy was often found on temple walls.
The man looking to the left, from whom his head and shoulders are preserved, can be identified by his beard costume and headgear as Syrians. On the shoulder part is a cape depicting a large plant and two gazelle.
