Round shield with decor in three fields. A smooth edge stretcher, at the outer edge 36 four-sided tags with traces of gilding. Within a ring, lined with bats, traces of gilding, on the ring in high relief a nereid and triton train against punched background, traces of gilding. In the middle a “chrysanthemum flower” with 12 larger leaves with remains of gilding and in between narrower, shiny leaves. In the middle an exaggerated tip, then screwed a 142 mm high, balusterous, four-sided tip with bevelled edges, remains of gilding. A hole on either side of the tip.
On the back a heavy steel handle, l: 150 mm, fixed on the opposite side a leather strap, l: 330 mm with a hole and a steel sole, riveted in a double steel band, b: 30 mm, which in turn is riveted in the shield.
War change from Warsaw 1655-08-30. In LRK older fixtures occupied as part of Magnus Ladulås’s armour, exhibited in the Royal House in Riddarholmskyrkan 1823-1855.
