Child's Liberty Bodice, 1908 (Ref:L.C712.1980.71.0)
An original Liberty Bodice from 1908. It is made from an unbleached knitted cotton fabric and features the distinctive Liberty Bodice strapping at the back and sides (see Other Views).
It is fastened at the centre front with bone buttons, with more buttons around the waist for attaching buttonhole drawers. Suspenders could also be attached by the two side straps.
The original Liberty Bodice was designed for girls aged between 9 and 13 and sold for 1s 9 1/2 p (9 pence).
