Ribbon corset of blue and white 5cm Barmen edging, boned with four flat steels and supported down the back lacing by three steels at each side. Two plain, adjustable suspenders are attached to the front of the corset. The ribbon strips allowed for much more movement especially at the top of the body.
The shape of the corset shows the transition from the long, tubular silhouette, created by the designer Paul Poiret at the beginning of the 20th century, and the boyish shape that became fashionable in the mid 1920s.
