Mary Annie Sloane was a Leicestershire artist who lived and worked for 93 years in Enderby. She produced many pencil drawings and etchings, like this one of a view near her home.
She travelled and visited Italy with her friend May Morris, the daughter of arts and crafts pioneer William Morris. One of her favourite possessions was a chair designed by William Morris and made by his company.
She was a loved and notable figure in the community who was often seen sitting in the village and sketching.
