Collage of postcards on paper. Described by the artists as a 'postcard sculpture', this collage depicts iconic London landmarks seen from different perspectives. Incorporating vintage postcards, it recalls early twentieth-century Dadaist photomontages. In the 1970s photography became Gilbert and George's favourite medium, including 'photo sculptures', arrangements of images in grids, an idiosyncratic device of their work. Often controversial, their subjects include race, religion, sex and death - universal themes they wish to highlight in their art.
