Inspired by disco fashions and the increasing interest in exercise and dance, the leotard became an increasingly popular garment in the 1970s. This stunning example was produced by Symington in 1979.
The halter neck style leotard has a deep plunge front and is fastened by a plastic clip around the back of the neck (see Other Views). It is made from red stretch elastane tricot which has been given a glitter finish.
