Woman's outfit consisting of a pink, yellow, white and grey check jacket and skirt with baby pink velvet trim and pink and silver buttons. The lining is pink and woven with an interlocking "C" motif. This suit was created by Karl Lagerfeld, who was created Design Consultant in charge of collections at the House of Chanel in 1983. The suit from the early 1990s has all of the features that go to make up a Chanel "classic".
The jacket is edge to edge and is trimmed with velvet. The buttons on the pockets and skirt have the interlocking "C" signature and the hem of the jacket has a silver chain to weight it down. Lagerfeld has become famous for taking these traditional elements of the Chanel look and presenting them with a contemporary feel.
