Description: Stone mace head. This form of mace is known as disk type. Mace heads are symbolic of the power of the king. The ruler of is often shown on temple reliefs smiting Egyptian enemies with such a weapon. A wooden rod would have been placed through the centre in order to provide a handle for the mace. The object is photographed here upside down. This example is made out of granite.
