The centre painted in black monochrome and gold of a riverside scene with figures walking on the banks near a classical temple like structure, and in the distance, a bridge over the river with trees and foliage. The flaring rim is decorated with four panels, one with figures in a landscape, the other a fisherman in a boat, the two scenes repeated on the opposite sides, with a background of formal foliate scrollwork and flower heads in gold.
