Medium sized sandalwood braise fan. The two guards are slightly curved, scalllopped at the upper edge, pierced, carved and inlaid with small, circular mirrored discs. The 18 wooden sticks are the same shape as the guards, but more heavily pierced in more intricate designs, and have a greater number of inlaid mirrored discs. The studs are held together by a strip of blue ribbon at the upper unfolding edge, and with a mother-o-pearl button ended metal rod at the base. The fan opens out to become semi-circular.
