A small pocket sized miner's tea and sugar box made around 1900.
This small metal box is oval in shape and has a small compartment at either end, one for tea and one for sugar. 'Tea & Sugar Box' is embossed on both of its lids.
Miners had to carry all they needed for each shift to the coalface. This box would have held just enough tea and sugar for a miner's break time brew.
