Description: Faience model of a squat jar on a stand. Such models were dedicated in both religious buildings as well as serving the dead. Faience is a glazed material that was commonly used in Ancient Egypt. It was mouldmade. Life-sized vessels similar to the example shown here were found in the Main Temple Deposit at Hierakonpolis.
