Room XIII of the Cyprus Museum is dedicated to the Hellenistic and Roman city of Salamis. In this city, the Amphitheatre, the Agora and the Gymnasium, were once decorated with marble statues. A selection of these impressive statues is exhibited here, which depict gods from the Greek pantheon such as Aphrodite, Hera, Zeus, Nemesis, Ygeia, Askleipios, Artemis, Isis, Hercules and Dionysos. In the centre of the room stands the remarkable marble statue of Apollo hldin` a kithara.
