The Vukani Zulu Cultural Museum is a specialist collection within the Fort Nongqayi Museum Village in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal. The collection covers artefacts made by the amaZulu people and traces the original use of the items and their evolution to works of art. The collection is also permitted to include work by non-Zulu persons that is influenced by the Zulu culture.
While internationally recognised for its collection of basket work, Vukani also contains a superb collection of pottery as well as carving and lesser known crafts. The crafter artists represented range from the late Reuben Ndwandwe and Nesta Nala to modern award winners such as Angeline Masuku and Doris Mwelase. The museum staff are prpared to assist collectors to commission work from the artists.
