The Money Museum contains a rich collection of numismatic items, banknotes, writings, photography and other collectable sets. The Museum exhibits individual and unique collections of Lithuanian Great Duchy coins, coins from Antiquity, from the Russian and German Empires, the Soviet Union. Also, the Museum has an exhibit collection of the Golden Horde’s 14th c. coins. The Museum collection contains coins, banknotes and other items from modern times. In the Money Museum expositions, visitors can see, for example, the highest denomination dollar banknote (100,000,000,000,000), which was issued in Zimbabwe or a huge copper coin in the 4 daler denomination, issued in Sweden. The Museum also exhibits original items used in money manufacturing — for instance, banknote plates, coins stamps or banknotes and coins that were never issued into circulation.
The Money Museum contains not only a rich collection of banknotes, coins, jewellery articles and modern art exhibitions, but also presents modern, highly technological tools that give everyone the opportunity to become familiar with additional information on the topics of money and the world of finances, to evaluate the knowledge gained at the museum through watching movies, playing educational computer games or reading informational material.
