We are dedicated to inform about the first settlers in the region, the daily life on the island and the reconstruction of Honningsvåg after the city was burned to the ground during the Second World War.
Our permanent exhibition also covers the fishing and marine development of the region. The Museum also regularly holds temporary art exhibitions by local artists.
Experience how life was 300 years ago using all your senses. Hear the music they listened to, smell the food they ate, discover what they used to wear and touch the fabric they used.
The 3D project is a production of 3rd graders from Honningsvåg skole about settlements from the Stone Age.
The main exhibition stands on two floors and will take you back in time to when the first men arrived in the region, to the reconstruction of Honningsvåg after the destructions of World War II....
Our summer exhibition will present the artworks of six different artists from Norway, Finland and Sweden whom all have a Sámi background.
We offer guided tours of the museum in Norwegian, English, French and German.
We don't have anything to show you here.
