Musée du Luxembourg is a museum in Paris. Situated near the Palais du Luxembourg, it once housed paintings and sculptures from the nineteenth century. Much of this collection was moved to the Musée d'Orsay at its opening in 1986. However, it now features temporary exhibitions according to a program dictated by the French Ministry of Culture and the Senate.
