Wine and salt have been very important in the social, economic and urban development of Chiclana from its Phoenician origins until the 20th Century

Nowadays, wine culture is still a craft tradition and family activity. With its extraordinary white wine and sweet wine it is part of the D.O. Jerez.-Xérès-Sherry.
The Chiclana´s marsh is in the Natural Park called Bahia de Cádiz. Actually there are two craft salt mines: Santa María de Jesús and Santa Ana de Bartivás.
The wine and salt Museum has got three rooms dedicated to salt with photos, videos and old objects and four rooms focused in wine with information panels, antique things, films and a miniature of a winery.

Also, the museum has got a big room for temporary exhibitions and general uses called The Sea and a introductory room, The Sun. A workshop room, a shop and a reception, complete this public equipment.

The ticket is free.

Our schedule is:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday

from 10:00 until 14:00 and from 18:00 until 20:00.
